BHOJPUR: Pauwadungma Rural Municipality of Bhojpur district has financially assisted locals to construct shrines for observing cultural events.
A dewalithan, shrine, was set up at Piple in the rural municipality, according to chief administrative officer Nawin Bhattarai.
The local level provided 50 percent of construction cost to the locals so that they established shrines for both Hindu and Kirat communities at various places.
The establishment of shrines for different communities would help promote diversity and cultural faiths. Such platforms are important places for celebrating festivals, conducting pujas and udhauli and ubhaulis fairs, according to a local resident Krishna Kumar Paudel.
Vice chairperson of the rural municipality, Jyotsna Rai, informed that the cultural structures are also expected to promote religious and cultural tourism.
