TANAHUN: A community forest surrounding the Chimkeshwari Temple has been designated as a religious forest and handed over to the Chimkeshwari Tourism Committee.

Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-5 took a decision to this regard.  During a hand over ceremony held on Saturday, chief of the forest office, Manoj Ranabhat, transferred the management responsibilities to Committee chairman, Krishna Tamang, reminding that this initiative aims to enhance tourism, protect forest, and promote greenery.

Total, 7.21 hectares of forest land surrounding the Chimkeshwari Temple has been defined as ‘Chimkeshwari religious forest’.

Following the forest hand over ceremony, 300 tree saplings of various species were planted in the area.
