Bhandari elected President of Itahari Chamber of Commerce and Industry

INARUWA: Gayatri Katuwal Bhandari has been elected as the President of Itahari Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In the vote counting that concluded on Sunday night, Bhandari was elected to the post by defeating her nearest rival Nawaraj Kafle by 15 votes, according to coordinator of the election committee,Tanka Dulal.

Bhandari received 758 votes, against 743 obtained by her rival.

Similarly, Jeevan Kumar Neupane, Sanjeev Khadka, Balram Basnet, Sinet Rijal, Sanjay Sah, Bal Bahadur Neupane, Sunny

Chaudhary, Dinesh Prasad Dhamala, and Mahesh Thapa have been elected as members representing the commerce sector.

Mina Acharya Dhakal and Sumitra Ghimire Bhattarai have been elected as women members. Abhishek Basnet, Shiva Prasad Bhattarai ‘Bhupal’, Hari Prasad Timsina, and Kisan Kumar Khediya have been elected as members representing the industry sector.

According to the election committee, 1,543 voters, out of a total 2,369, took part in the voting.
