KATHMANDU: A total of 173 civil servants have been transferred through the government’s Online Employee Transfer Management System, with 1,860 applications received so far, according to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

The ministry said 28 applications were returned due to incomplete procedures, while transfers are currently being processed for vacant posts and other special cases ahead of the regular transfer window from August 17 to September 15.

Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal said the digital platform has made the transfer process more transparent, secure, and accessible, allowing employees to apply and track their requests online without visiting the ministry.

The ministry said the system is integrated with the Department of National Personnel Records (Civil), enabling employee records to be updated automatically once transfers are approved. Officials said the platform is expected to streamline transfer management, reduce paperwork, and minimize irregularities by replacing the previous manual process.
