KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army has transferred five Major Generals and five Brigadier Generals, assigning them to new command and administrative responsibilities as part of its regular personnel management.
Under the transfers, Major General Dipesh Jung Shah, who was serving at the North Western Division Headquarters, has been posted to the Directorate General of Military Intelligence. Shah, from Batch No. 2114, is expected to retire in the near future.
Major General Rabindra Khatri, stationed at the Valley Division Headquarters, has been transferred to the National Security Council Secretariat, where he will serve as the acting co-coordinator. He belongs to Batch No. 2104.
Major General Padam Bahadur Budha, formerly with the General Staff Department, has been appointed acting commander of the North Western Division Headquarters. He is from Batch No. 2751.
Similarly, Major General Pawan Khatri, who was serving at the National Security Council Secretariat, has been transferred to the Sudurpashchim Division Headquarters. He belongs to Batch No. 2512.
Major General Shakti Jung Basnet, previously serving at the Army Command and Staff College, has been posted to the Eastern Division Headquarters in Itahari as acting division commander. Basnet is from Batch No. 2214.
Among the Brigadier General-level transfers, Brigadier General Dravya Ram Bhandari has been transferred from the Directorate of Military Procurement to the Valley Division Headquarters. He belongs to Batch No. 2414.
Brigadier General Ranjit Thapa, who was serving at the Directorate of Disaster Management, has been transferred to the General Staff Department.
Likewise, Brigadier General Kiran Raj Shrestha has been transferred from the Directorate of Supply and Transport to the Directorate of Military Procurement, where he has been assigned as acting director. He belongs to Batch No. 2509.
Brigadier General Chulendra Bahadur Thapa, previously serving at No. 16 Brigade Headquarters, has been transferred to the Sudurpashchim Division Headquarters. He is from Batch No. 2856.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Sanjay Kumar Ranjit, from Batch No. 2226, has been transferred from the National Cadet Corps (National Service Dal) to the Directorate of Supply and Transport.
