KATHMANDU: Nationwide monsoon activity is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces on Tuesday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

With the monsoon trough positioned near its average location in eastern Nepal and slightly north of average in the west, light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is forecast across the high hills and plains throughout the day and night.

Lumbini and Sudurpashchim face the highest risk of heavy downpours during the day, while Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini are likely to experience heavy spells tonight.

Officials have advised residents in vulnerable regions to remain alert.
