SUNSARI: The District Administration Office of Sunsari has officially lifted the indefinite curfew previously enforced across designated areas of the district.
According to an official notice issued by Chief District Officer Ishwari Prasad Aryal, the curfew—originally enforced from 9:00 PM on July 27 under Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act—was fully rescinded effective from 12:15 AM on July 28.
The administrative order had restricted all public movement, assemblies, rallies, demonstrations, meetings, and blockades within a designated perimeter defined by the border of Inaruwa Municipality Ward Nos. 3 and 6 (Ghopali Tol along the Mahendra Highway) to the east, the Koshi Barrage Bridge to the west, and 200 meters north and south from the Mahendra Highway.
With conditions normalizing in the area, local authorities confirmed the complete revocation of all movement restrictions.
