Govt launches programs to boost domestic production

The Government has decided to take over the remaining construction works of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in the Chitwan district.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, unveiling the policies and programmes of the incumbent government for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23 at the meeting of the federal parliament on Tuesday, shared that the government will coordinate and facilitate the remaining works of the Stadium.

Similarly, BP Koirala International Sports Village will be built in Gaindakot in Chitwan while the government will also build Fapla International Cricket Ground in the Kailali district.

Furthermore, the new policies and programmes include the construction of an international stadium with coaches in all seven provinces.

The sports villages will be built at every local level. A feasibility study will be conducted for establishing Sports University and further processes will be taken forward.

Various international events will be organized to promote adventurous and mountaineering related sports

The government has announced the launch of the ‘Prime Minister Nepali Production and Consumption Growth Decade’ under the slogan ‘Own products, Own business’.

It was shared while President Bidya Devi Bhandari unveiled the policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23 in the joint meeting of the federal parliament on Tuesday evening.

The policies and programmes include formulation of agriculture policy and mechanization of agriculture, conducting research in the agriculture sector, its commercialization and promotion of climate-friendly technology.

The government will also lend its support to the private sector for the ‘Make in Nepal’ and ‘Made in Nepal’ campaigns, aiming to encourage domestic production and domestic consumption.

Furthermore, the private sector will be roped in for the construction of infrastructure for the industrial sector. Expert market and trade intelligence will be employed to obtain reliable information on international trade, according to President Bhandari. An integrated model programme named ‘Farm to Industry’ would be implemented which will integrate produces of agriculture, forest and mining sectors into the industrial processing process, informed the President.

The supply system of petroleum products will be made easier and more cost-effective.
