496 small and cottage industries registered in five months

JHAPA: Up to the end of Mangsir (Mid-December) in the current fiscal year 2082/83, 496 new small and cottage industries have been registered in the district.

According to Janaki Bhattarai, Information Officer at the Industry Office, Jhapa, during this period, 243 firms were registered under industry and 253 under commerce. During the same period, 500 industrial and 479 commercial industries in the district were renewed, she informed.

According to Information Officer Bhattarai, in the district during the first five months of the current fiscal year, 108 industries in the industrial sector and 77 in the commercial sector were canceled, 12 industries were relocated, 28 industries underwent name changes, 18 industries changed their names, and 36 industries added new objectives.

Officer Bhattarai stated that although the number of people coming to the office to close industries was low, most industries that were not renewed have already been closed.

Officer Bhattarai mentioned that the number of new industries being added is increasing compared to the number of industries closing for various reasons. According to officer, the office collected a revenue of NPR 8.8 million under various headings during the first five months of the current fiscal year.
