KATHMANDU: A total of 75 companies from various sectors are awaiting approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to issue 375.4 million IPO shares worth Rs 54.15 billion.
Among them, the hydropower sector leads with 37 companies planning to propose 178,633,754 shares valued at Rs 18.26 billion.
By investment volume, the production and processing sector tops the list with 126,699,272 shares worth Rs 27.04 billion awaiting clearance.
Similarly, three hotel and tourism firms plan to issue Rs 1.42 billion worth of shares, while four investment companies have proposed IPOs totaling Rs 3.14 billion.
Three microinsurance firms, Protective Micro Insurance, Star Micro Insurance, and Liberty Micro Life Insurance, together plan IPOs totaling Rs 675 million for 6,750,000 shares.
Ten additional companies across various sectors have applied to issue 27,665,054 shares worth Rs 3.43 billion. One development bank, Salpa Bikas Bank, seeks approval to issue 1,723,880 shares worth Rs 172.3 million.
