KATHMANDU: All seven provincial governments of Nepal are presenting their annual budgets for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 (2025/26) today.
According to constitutional provisions, provincial governments must announce their budgets on Asar 1 (June 1). The federal government has already presented its budget on Jestha 15 (May 29), while local governments are scheduled to unveil their budgets on Asar 10 (June 24).
Koshi Province is preparing to present a budget in the range of NPR 35 to 40 billion, while Madhesh Province is set to unveil a budget of around NPR 45 billion.
Bagmati Province is planning to present a budget of approximately NPR 68 billion during its Provincial Assembly session scheduled for 3 PM today.
Similarly, Gandaki Province is preparing a budget of NPR 32 billion. Lumbini Province is expected to bring a slightly smaller budget than the current fiscal year’s NPR 39 billion, according to sources.
Karnali Province is drafting a budget of around NPR 31 billion, and Sudurpaschim Province is also preparing to bring a budget of nearly NPR 31 billion, close to its current allocation.
