KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives has passed the Appropriation Bill 2082.
During Tuesday’s meeting of the House, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel’s proposal to pass the Appropriation Bill 2082 was endorsed by a majority vote.
While the Appropriation Bill was being passed, Members of Parliament from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) were absent. They completely boycotted the budget discussions.
Earlier in the meeting, 23 proposals submitted by lawmakers seeking to cut expenditures under various headings of ministries included in the bill were presented for decision by Speaker Devraj Ghimire, but all were rejected.
On Jestha 15 (May 29), the government had presented a budget of Rs 1.964 trillion for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint session of the Federal Parliament.
