Chief of Karnali Province Govinda Prasad Kalauni has called for the budget session on June 7 on the recommendation of the provincial government. The Office of the Provincial Chief has issued a statement mentioning that the budget session had been called for 2 pm on June 7 as per Article 183 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal.

The all-party meeting held on Thursday had urged the provincial government to call for the budget session at the earliest. As per the constitution, the provinces have to announce their budgets on June 15. Prior to the budget being announced there is a tradition of holding discussions on the policies and programmes to be introduced by the provincial government.
