KATHMANDU: The Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) has postponed its scheduled 26th general convention and election due to the election code of conduct enforced ahead of the House of Representatives election set for March 5.

The FCAN had planned to hold its general convention and 13th conference from January 29 to 31.

However, the Election Commission formally instructed the FCAN to defer the event, reminding it that the election code of conduct is now in effect.

Accordingly, all pre-scheduled programs of FCAN have been postponed, and all the activities will remain on hold until further notice.

The FCAN officials also clarified that, in line with the code of conduct, general conventions of all provincial and district associations, as well as associate and commodity-based organizations under the federation, have been suspended.
