KATHMANDU: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted four companies for one year due to unsatisfactory performance in executing public contracts.

According to a notice issued by the office on Monday, the companies barred from participating in any public procurement processes during the blacklisting period are Green Leaf Pvt. Ltd. of Kathmandu, Shivam Construction of Dhanusha, D.G. Eagle Construction of Kathmandu, and Thomas Construction and Suppliers of Sunsari.

The PPMO stated that these firms failed to deliver their contracted work satisfactorily, prompting the office to take disciplinary action.

The decision to blacklist was based on formal recommendations from the respective project authorities overseeing the contracts.

Green Leaf Pvt. Ltd. was recommended for blacklisting by the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Sunsari.

Similarly, Shivam Construction was flagged by the Gaushala Municipality Office in Mahottari for underperformance.

D.G. Eagle Construction was blacklisted following a report from the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office in Rautahat, while Thomas Construction and Suppliers faced action on the recommendation of the Urban Development and Building Office in Biratnagar.

The blacklisting will remain in effect for one year, during which time the companies will be ineligible to bid on or participate in any government procurement-related projects.
