HETAUDA: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Gaurikumari Yadav has said that preparations are being intensified to bring the long-shuttered Hetauda Textile Industry back into operation.

During an inspection visit to the Hetauda Industrial District on Saturday, Minister Yadav stated that reopening the textile factory would contribute to the country’s economic growth and help generate employment opportunities. She added that the process of reviving the industry would be accelerated in the near future.

The minister said the government has adopted a policy aimed at reviving sick and closed industries to strengthen the national economy. She also pledged to allocate a budget for the operation of the textile industry in the upcoming fiscal year.

According to her, restarting closed factories would create jobs and encourage industrial activity, adding that the government is making necessary preparations for the initiative.

Minister Yadav also visited the Hetauda Industrial District Management Office and inspected the closed textile factory. During the visit, office chief Sangita Kunwar briefed the minister about the current condition of industries operating within the industrial district.

Established on December 5, 1963, with financial support from the United States government, the Hetauda Industrial District currently accommodates 147 industries and business establishments.
