KATHMANDU: The government is set to introduce an Integrated Business Recovery Plan targeting the private sector.
Newly appointed Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal announced the plan on Tuesday while meeting with representatives of private sector umbrella organizations, stating that it is aimed at helping entrepreneurs overcome their current difficulties.
Minister Khanal said the government is positive about offering relief through tax and monetary policies.
He added that employees across all public institutions have been instructed to deliver services in such a way that citizens and the private sector feel the government’s presence through effective service delivery.
Addressing the business community, Minister Khanal informed that he had inspected damaged structures of Thapathali Auto Sector, Bhatbhateni Superstore Koteshwor, Annapurna and Kantipur Media Houses, and the Traffic Police Office.
During the interaction, Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya shared that apart from Dashain holidays, banks and customs offices would remain open even on other public holidays.
He also said the government is working to reopen the Tatopani trade route that has been blocked due to landslides.
Representatives of the private sector congratulated the newly appointed Finance Minister and extended best wishes for his tenure.
They also urged the government to assure investment security, promote industries, and create an investment-friendly environment.
