TULSIPUR: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has allocated Rs 10 million for the development of Tarigaun Airport in Tulsipur, Dang.

Syani Chaudhary, Deputy Mayor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, stated that the ministry has also requested an additional Rs 990 million from the Ministry of Finance.
Originally established in 2011 BS, the airport is currently unable to accommodate large aircraft.

With a runway length of 750 meters, an expansion to 1,500 meters would allow a 72-seater aircraft to land. At present, only 19-seater planes can land there.

Chaudhary added that preparations are underway to begin the necessary work, as the current small aircraft have not been able to fully utilize the airport’s potential.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli recently visited the airport to assess the situation.
