Hydropower leads as NEPSE closes with Rs 18.49 billion turnover

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed slightly higher on Thursday, the final trading day of the week.

The benchmark NEPSE rose by 3.76 points to settle at 2,982.64.

Alongside the index uptick, total trading volume also saw a significant rise, with shares worth Rs 18.49 billion exchanged. A total of 38.96 million units of shares were traded.

Out of 328 companies that witnessed transactions, share prices of 123 companies increased, while 127 declined.

No company saw its stock price remain unchanged. The trading occurred through 154,642 transactions.

Of the 13 sub-indices, 6 gained while 7 declined.

The hydropower sector registered the highest gain, while the mutual fund group posted the smallest increase.
