KATHMANDU: Kiran Pandit has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).

Minister for General Administration Pratibha Rawal stated that a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday appointed him to the post. The Deputy Governor will serve a five-year term.

Pandit entered banking service in the fiscal year 2005/06. He has previously worked within NRB in the Bank Supervision Department, Banks and Financial Institutions Regulation Department, Financial Inclusion and Consumer Protection Division, and the Payment Systems Department, among others.
