KATHMANDU: Floods and landslides across Nepal have severely disrupted road transport, prompting Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to operate special flights between Kathmandu and Bhairahawa on Monday (October 6) using an Airbus A320.

According to NAC spokesperson Subas Dangi, two flights have been scheduled to ease passenger movement after highways were blocked by landslides.

The Airbus will depart from Kathmandu at 1:00 pm and return from Bhairahawa at 2:45 pm.

The fare has been set at Rs 5,000 for Kathmandu–Bhairahawa and Rs 7,000 for Bhairahawa–Kathmandu, with passengers allowed to carry up to 30 kilograms of luggage.

NAC said the special flights aim to transport travelers stranded due to road closures and ensure urgent travel needs are met.
