KATHMANDU: The Nepali stock market extended its decline on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The NEPSE index fell by 18.40 points to close at 2,487.17.
The Sensitive Index, tracking Class “A” companies, also dropped by 1.73 points to 435.29.
Today, 311 companies traded 36,531 times, with a total of 7,643,635 shares changing hands, amounting to Rs 3.27 billion.
A total of 197 companies saw their share prices fall, 45 gained, and 9 remained unchanged.
Among 13 sectors traded today, only Mutual Funds and Banking indices rose, while the rest closed in red.
Himalayan Power Partner Limited topped the gainers’ list, while investors in Samaj Laghubitta Financial Institution Limited suffered the biggest loss of 10%, triggering a negative circuit on its shares.
Muktinath Development Bank Limited recorded the highest trading volume today, with a final share price of Rs 435.50 per unit and total turnover of Rs 153 million.
