NEPSE continues to decline for last six days

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has been continuously declining for the last six days. The NEPSE index, which started declining since Monday last week, continued to decline today.

After a decline of 20.68 points today, the NEPSE index has settled at 2,751.42. 15 million 94 thousand 915 shares of 311 companies were bought and sold 87 thousand 156 times, worth Rs 8 billion 378 million 55 thousand, according to NEPSE.

While other groups increased by 0.08 percent in today’s trading, all other sub-indices decreased. The highest decline was seen in ‘mutual funds’ by 3.06 percent, trade by 1.65 percent, production and processing by 1.15 percent, hydropower by 1.16 percent and investment by 1.51 percent.

Similarly, banking decreased by 0.44 percent, development banking by 0.73 percent, and finance by 0.70 percent, hotel and tourism by 0.99 percent, life insurance by 0.41 percent, microfinance by 0.63 percent and non-life insurance by 0.68 percent. In terms of transaction amount, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited recorded the highest transaction today, worth Rs 735 million 90 thousand. In terms of the number of shares traded, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited recorded the highest transaction, with 1.163 million 855 shares.
