KATHMANDU: Investor confidence has returned to the stock market, as the NEPSE index rose for the third consecutive day—this time by 28.91 points on Tuesday.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 1.09 percent, closing at 2660.39 points.
Along with the index, the trading volume also saw a notable increase. A total of 15,764,001 shares worth Rs 7.03 billion were traded today.
At market close, the share prices of 217 companies increased, while 31 companies saw declines. No company remained unchanged.
Throughout the day, 309 companies were actively traded in 70,214 transactions.
Out of the 13 sectoral indices, only two—Manufacturing & Processing (down by 0.07%) and Trading (down by 0.61%)—recorded losses.
The remaining 11 sectors posted gains. The Investment group led the rally with a 2.38 percent increase.
