KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight drop today. The NEPSE index decreased by 4.28 points, settling at 2,645.24.
According to NEPSE, 325 companies traded a total of 10,860,828 shares in 60,620 transactions, amounting to a turnover of NPR 4.71 billion.
In today’s trading, the indices of Development Banks (+0.26%), Finance (+0.91%), Hydropower (+0.22%), Manufacturing & Processing (+0.30%), and Microfinance (+0.61%) increased, while all other sector sub-indices declined.
The indices that fell include Banking (-0.68%), Hotels & Tourism (-0.04%), Investment (-0.73%), Life Insurance (-0.51%), Mutual Funds (-0.17%), Trading (-0.10%), and Others (-0.18%).
In today’s market, Sagarmatha Distillery Limited, Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, and Jhapa Energy Limited hit the positive circuit. The biggest loser of the day was NIFRA Green Energy Debenture, whose price declined by 9.51%.
By transaction value, United Modi Hydropower Limited led the market with a turnover of NPR 271 million 3180. By number of shares traded, Siddhartha Equity Fund topped the list with 765,000 shares exchanged.
