KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a slight drop. Today, the NEPSE index fell by 0.53 points and settled at 2,644.70.
A total of 108,10,106 shares of 324 companies were traded 56,009 times, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 4.48 billion 13 million 94 thousand 149.
In today’s trading, the Banking sector declined by 0.58%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.62%, Investment by 0.04%, Life Insurance by 0.57%, and Microfinance by 0.06%. All other sectoral sub-indices increased. Development Bank rose by 0.17%, Finance by 0.27%, Hydropower by 0.70%, Manufacturing & Processing by 0.51%, Mutual Funds by 0.25%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.26%, and the Trading sector increased by 0.75%.
Six companies hit the positive circuit limit today: Sagar Distillery Ltd., Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd., Jhapa Energy Ltd., Mabilung Energy Ltd., Bungal Hydro Ltd., and Srinagar Agritech Industries Ltd. The biggest loser of the day was Green Ventures Ltd., whose share price fell by 9.85%.
Based on transaction amount and number of shares traded, Union Hydropower ranked the highest today.
