KATHMANDU: On the fourth trading day of the week today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decreased by 1.64 points. Today, the share prices of four companies hit a positive circuit, while the transaction amount reached Rs 7.499 billion.
While NEPSE decreased by 19.85 points on Sunday, it had increased by 1.53 points on Monday. On Tuesday, however, it decreased by 12.58 points. Falling by 0.06 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at the 2,681.50 level on Wednesday.
The Sensitive Index also dropped by 0.70 points to fall to the 456.00 level. The Sensitive Index decreased by 0.15 percent compared to the previous trading day. On Wednesday, 16,682,626 shares of 326 companies were bought and sold through 80,422 transactions on NEPSE. In this, a turnover of Rs 7.499 billion occurred on Wednesday.
On Sunday, a turnover of Rs 9.109 billion occurred on NEPSE, while on Monday, a turnover of Rs 8.223 billion took place. Similarly, yesterday (Tuesday), a turnover of Rs 8.631 billion occurred.
Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE on Wednesday, the indices of seven groups increased. The indices of the remaining six groups decreased. Accordingly, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.32 percent.

Development Bank increased by 0.10 percent, Finance by 0.93 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 0.18 percent, Hydropower group by 0.38 percent, and Investment group by 0.08 percent.
Life insurance decreased by 0.13 percent, the manufacturing and processing group by 0.53 percent, the microfinance group by 0.30 percent, and the mutual fund group by 0.28 percent. Likewise, the Non-Life Insurance group increased by 0.13 percent. Similarly, the Others group decreased by 0.31 percent, while the Trading group increased by 0.49 percent.
On NEPSE on Wednesday, the prices of 113 companies increased while those of 134 companies decreased. The share prices of 13 companies remained stable.
In the fluctuating NEPSE throughout the day, the share investors of four companies earned 10 percent today. That is, a ‘positive circuit’ was triggered. The companies hitting the positive circuit include Kalinchowk Darshan, Super-Mai Hydropower Company, Super-Madi Hydropower Company, and Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company.
Similarly, the investors of HLI Large Cap Fund (Mutual Fund) lost the most at 5.54 percent of their share price. Its final share price was maintained at Rs 9.71.
Today, the highest volume of share trading was for Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company. Today, a turnover of Rs 800 million occurred for it. The final share price of Ankhu Khola was maintained at Rs 354 per share.
