KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 25.81 points today, Wednesday, the third trading day of the week.

The NEPSE closed at 2,744.45 points, a decrease of 0.93 percent compared to the previous trading day. On this day, the Sensitive Index also fell by 3.06 points to settle at 464.51 points. This represents a 0.65 percent decrease from the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index dropped by 0.92 percent and the sensitive float index by 0.69 percent.

In the share market on Wednesday, at least 11,234,360 units of shares were traded through 104,005 transactions involving 351 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.986 billion was recorded on Wednesday. On Monday, the turnover was Rs 4.748 billion, while on Tuesday, it was Rs 6.531 billion.

Share prices of only 30 companies increased in the share market today. While the share prices of 235 companies declined, four companies saw their share prices remain stable. Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE today, sub-indices of only three groups increased, while the sub-indices of the remaining 10 groups fell.

According to the data, while the index for the Commercial Bank group fell by 0.76 percent on Wednesday, the Development Bank group index rose by 0.14 percent. Similarly, Finance dropped by 0.64, Hotels and Tourism by 1.64, Hydropower by 1.45, Investment by 0.66, Life Insurance by 0.84, Manufacturing and Processing by 2.24, and Microfinance by 0.54 percent. In the same way, Mutual Fund increased by 0.01 percent, while Non-Life Insurance decreased by 1.11 and the other groups sub-index fell by 0.92 percent. On this day, the sub-index of the trading group increased by 1.09 percent.

On NEPSE this Wednesday, shareholders of Corporate Development Bank earned 13.81 percent. Conversely, investors of KBL Debenture-2090 lost 11.46 percent in share value.

Reliance Spinning Mills topped the list in terms of turnover amount. A turnover of Rs 241.9 million was recorded for Reliance today.

Similarly, Prabhu Smart Fund was at the forefront based on the number of shares traded today. On Wednesday, at least 1,149,798 units of its shares were bought and sold. Its final trading price was maintained at Rs 13.05 per unit.
