NEPSE drops 26.05 points as trading volume reaches Rs 10.773 billion

KATHMANDU: On the second trading day of the week, today (Monday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decreased by 26.05 points.

NEPSE had decreased by 10.25 points on Sunday. Compared to Sunday, NEPSE has gone down by 0.96 percent. With this, NEPSE has stalled at 2,672.39 points.

The Sensitive Index also decreased by 4.02 points and dropped to the 455.65-point level. The Sensitive Index decreased by 0.87 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE today, 26,766,347 shares were bought and sold in 102,281 transactions of 324 companies. In this, a turnover equivalent to Rs 10.773 billion occurred on Monday. On Sunday, however, a turnover of Rs 11.659 billion had occurred.

While 13 groups were traded in NEPSE on Monday, only the index of the investment group increased. The indices of the remaining 12 groups turned red.

Accordingly, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.77 percent, Development Bank by 1.37, Finance by 2.29, Hotel and Tourism by 1.39, Hydropower by 0.54, and Investment by 0.91 percent.

Similarly, life insurance decreased by 1.00 percent, the manufacturing and processing group by 1.23 percent, the microfinance group by 0.61 percent, mutual funds by 0.47 percent, the non-life insurance group by 1.41 percent, and the others group by 1.96 percent. On Monday, only the Trading group moved upward by 0.22 percent.

In NEPSE on Sunday, while the prices of 42 companies increased, 212 companies decreased. The share prices of six companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day, on Monday, investors of Khani Khola Hydropower Company earned the most, by 9.97 percent. The final trading price of Khani Khola was maintained at Rs 304.

Similarly, investors of Maya Khola Hydropower Company lost the most share value, by 5.40 percent. Its final share price was maintained at Rs 331.

Ridi Power Company was the company with the most trading today. A turnover of Rs 771.9 million occurred for it on Monday. The final share price of Ridi Power was maintained at Rs 316 per share.
