NEPSE ends week on positive note with Rs 11.102 billion

KATHMANDU: On the final trading day of the week, today (Thursday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by a single digit. NEPSE, which had decreased continuously this week, made a pleasant exit today by increasing by 8.97 points.

Among the five trading days this week, NEPSE decreased on four days and increased on only one day. NEPSE had decreased by 10.25 points on Sunday, 26.05 points on Monday, 10.25 points on Tuesday, and 0.04 points on Wednesday. Compared to the previous day’s trading, NEPSE increased by 0.33 percent on Thursday and settled at the 2,671.07 point level.

The Sensitive Index also increased by 1.51 points on Thursday to reach the 456.72-point level. The Sensitive Index increased by 0.33 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE on Thursday, 27,780,584 shares were bought and sold in 106,018 transactions of 337 companies. In this, a turnover equivalent to Rs 11.102 billion occurred on Thursday.

In NEPSE, a turnover of Rs 11.659 billion occurred on Sunday, while a turnover equivalent to Rs 10.773 billion occurred on Monday. Similarly, while a turnover of Rs 8.616 billion occurred on Tuesday, a turnover equivalent to Rs 8.692 billion occurred on Wednesday.

While 13 groups were traded in NEPSE on Thursday, the indices of eight groups increased. The indices of the remaining five groups decreased.

Accordingly, the indices of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.34, the Development Bank by 1.18, and the Finance group by 0.35 percent. The index of the Hotel and Tourism group decreased by 1.65 percent.

Similarly, hydropower increased by 0.97, investment by 0.62, life insurance by 0.49, and the manufacturing and processing group by 0.60 percent. Likewise, while the microfinance group decreased by 0.01 percent, the index of the mutual fund increased by 0.21 percent.

In NEPSE on Thursday, the indices of the Non-Life Insurance group decreased by 0.14 percent, the others group by 0.26 percent, and the trading group by 0.09 percent.

In NEPSE on Thursday, while the prices of 139 companies increased, 115 companies decreased. The share prices of six companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day on Thursday, investors of Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company earned the most, by 9.99 percent. The final trading price of Madhya Bhotekoshi was maintained at Rs 313.

Similarly, investors of Kalinchowk Darshan Limited lost the most share value, by 7.59 percent. Its final share price was maintained at Rs 901.

Ngadi Group Power Limited was the company with the most trading today. A turnover of Rs 705,329,086 occurred for it on Thursday. The final share price of Ngadi was maintained at Rs 434 per share.
