KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week today (Tuesday), the NEPSE index increased by 9.93 points. The NEPSE, which had risen by 0.37 percent in the previous trading session, reached 2,649.30 points.
After dropping by 10.29 points on Sunday, the NEPSE had increased by 28.73 points yesterday (Monday).
Similarly, the Sensitive Index also rose by 2.31 points to settle at 457.23 points. On Tuesday, shares of 334 companies were traded 88,362 times in the share market, with a total of 14,831,241 shares bought and sold. The total transaction amount on Tuesday stood at Rs 7 billion 12 crore 33 lakh 65 thousand 296.
On Sunday, the share market had recorded transactions worth Rs 5 billion 1 crore 75 lakh 87 thousand 294, while on Monday the turnover had reached Rs 6 billion 47 crore 37 lakh 36 thousand 99.
Out of 13 groups traded on the NEPSE today, the hotel and tourism group and the manufacturing and processing group declined, while the share prices of the remaining 11 groups increased.
Accordingly, the commercial banks group rose by 0.43 percent, development banks by 0.79 percent, and finance by 2.87 percent. Likewise, the hotel and tourism group declined by 0.23 percent today.
Hydropower increased by 0.13 percent, investment by 0.32 percent, and life insurance by 0.04 percent. The manufacturing and processing group, however, declined by 0.51 percent.
Similarly, microfinance rose by 0.84 percent, mutual funds by 0.45 percent, non-life insurance by 0.12 percent, the others group by 0.77 percent, and the trading group by 0.54 percent. On Tuesday, share prices of 148 companies increased on the NEPSE, while those of 103 companies declined. Share prices of eight companies remained unchanged.
On Tuesday, the share price of Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited rose the most, by 9.97 percent. The final trading price of Jeevan Bikas stood at Rs 1,456 per share. Likewise, investors of Ruru Hydropower Project lost the most, with its share price declining by 8.41 percent. Ruru’s final trading price stood at Rs 675 per share. Yesterday (Monday), Ruru’s share price had hit a positive circuit.
Similarly, on Tuesday, SY Panel Nepal Limited recorded the highest share turnover. Shares worth Rs 24 crore 88 lakh 36 thousand 986 of SY Panel were traded today, with the final trading price set at Rs 1,300 per share.
