KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed by 9.19 points on Monday to close at 2,631.48, reflecting a 0.35 percent rise from the previous trading session.
Trading activity remained robust, with 14,172,535 shares worth approximately Rs 6.38 billion changing hands in 63,371 transactions involving 318 companies.
Of the total listed companies, share prices of 145 firms rose, while 103 declined. No company saw its share price remain unchanged.
Among the 13 trading subgroups, nine closed in positive territory while four declined. The manufacturing and processing sector led the gains, surging by 1.63 percent. The investment subgroup showed the least growth, inching up by just 0.02 percent.
On the downside, the ‘Others’ subgroup recorded the biggest loss, falling by 0.36 percent, followed by the hotel and tourism sector with a minor dip of 0.03 percent.
