NEPSE inches up 2.41 points as turnover declines

KATHMANDU: On the second trading day of the week, today (Monday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by 2.41 points. Although NEPSE increased, the transaction amount has decreased compared to the previous day.

Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE increased by 0.09 percent and settled at the 2,616.97 mark.

On Monday, the Sensitive Index also rose by 1.65 points and stopped at the 451.05 mark. The Sensitive Index increased by 0.36 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE on Monday, 12,621,188 shares were bought and sold through 56,347 transactions of 329 companies.

In this, transactions worth Rs 5.138 billion took place on Monday. Compared to Sunday, the transaction amount has decreased. On Sunday, transactions worth Rs 6.699 billion took place in NEPSE.

Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE on Monday, the indicators of six groups increased while the indicators of seven groups decreased. Accordingly, the indicator of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.28 percent, the Development Bank by 0.90 percent, and the indicator of the Finance group increased by 0.56 percent. The indicator of hotels and tourism decreased by 0.35 percent, while the indicator of the hydropower group decreased by 0.23 percent.

Similarly, investment increased by 0.37 percent, and the indicator of the life insurance group increased by 0.07 percent.

The indicators of Manufacturing and Processing decreased by 0.06 percent, the Microfinance group by 0.07 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.41 percent, and the Non-Life Insurance group by 0.22 percent.

Likewise, while the other groups increased by 0.08 percent, the indicator of the trading group went down by 0.03 percent.

On Monday, the share prices of 113 companies increased in NEPSE. While the share prices of 140 companies decreased, those of nine companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day, the investors of Salpa Bikas Bank earned the most on Monday. The investors of Salpa gained 9.99 percent in share price on Monday. A positive circuit had occurred in Salpa’s share price yesterday (Sunday). On Monday, the final trading price of Salpa remained at Rs 439.

Similarly, the investors of NIBL Samriddhi Fund-2 lost 4.81 percent in value.

Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company had the highest turnover on Monday. Transactions worth Rs 260.2 million took place. On Sunday as well, the turnover of Ankhu Khola was the highest. On Sunday, transactions worth Rs 634.2 million of Ankhu Khola took place. The final share price of Ankhu Khola on Monday remained at Rs 343 per share.
