NEPSE index declines for fourth consecutive day

KATHMANDU: The decline in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued today. The NEPSE index, which has been continuously declining since last Monday, settled at 2,818.43 today after a decline of 2.70 points.

According to the NEPSE, 19,941,514 shares of 310 companies were bought and sold 93,895 times, resulting in a turnover of Rs 10.10 billion, 18,17,681.

In today’s trading, banking increased by 0.03, development banks by 1.86, production and processing by 0.24 and microfinance by 0.05 percent, while all other sub-indices decreased.

Finance decreased by 1.23, hotels and tourism by 0.57, hydropower by 0.00, investment by 0.14 and life insurance by 0.80 percent. Similarly, mutual funds decreased by 0.18 percent, non-life insurance by 0.04 percent, business by 0.24 percent and other groups by 0.71 percent.

The share prices of Guardian Microlife Insurance Limited and Bhuleog Energy Development Company Limited have entered a positive circuit today, while the share price of Ne Nabil Debenture-2082 has entered a negative circuit.

In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has witnessed the highest transaction today, worth Rs 1.12 billion 8.362 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited has witnessed the highest transaction of 1.06 million shares.
