KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which rose by a high on the first trading day of the week, fell by double digits today. The NEPSE index fell by 13.62 points to settle at 2,876.66.
According to the NEPSE, 30 million 1,241,258 shares of 300 different companies were bought and sold 139,555 times, resulting in a transaction worth Rs 14.28 billion 451 million 595.
After today’s trading, life insurance increased by 0.77 percent, production and processing by 0.25 percent, mutual fund by 1 percent, non-life insurance by 0.46 percent and other groups by 1.68 percent, while all other sub-indices decreased. Banking decreased by 1.35 percent, Development Bank decreased by 0.84 percent, Finance decreased by 0.93 percent, Hotels and Tourism decreased by 1.88 percent, Hydropower decreased by 1.21 percent, Investment Group decreased by 0.24 percent, Microfinance decreased by 0.88 percent, and Trade decreased by 0.84 percent.
Today, the share price of Guardian Microlife Insurance Limited has entered a positive circuit, while the share price of Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has entered a negative circuit.
Based on the number of shares traded, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has the highest turnover of Rs. 1.38 billion 74 million 47 thousand. Based on the number of shares traded, the highest turnover of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited promoter shares has been 1.771 million 550 units.
