KATHMANDU: After three stagnant days, the NEPSE index rose by 21.30 points on Monday, closing at 2,761, with a daily high of 2,764 points at 2:30 PM.
Turnover fell to Rs 5.75 billion from Rs 6.54 billion the previous day. Prices of 179 companies increased, while 71 declined. The “Others” sector led gains with a 2.79% rise, boosted by Nepal Reinsurance and Himalayan Re.
Other sector movements: Banking +0.58%, Development Banks +0.95%, Microfinance +1.50%, Life Insurance +0.56%, Hotels & Tourism +0.45%, Hydropower +0.32%, Investment +0.34%. Production & Processing dropped 0.05%.
Top gainers: Narayani Development Bank and Bikash Hydropower (+10%), Sano Kisan Bikas Bank +5.26%, Nepal Reinsurance +5.10%. Top losers: Sikles Hydropower -3.54%, CYC Microfinance -3.50%.
