NEPSE rises by 10.30 points, turnover increases compared to previous day

KATHMANDU: On the fourth trading day of the week, today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by 10.30 points. Compared to the previous day, the transaction amount has also increased.

Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE increased by 0.39 percent and settled at the 2,648.90 mark.

On Wednesday, the Sensitive Index also rose by 1.20 points and stopped at the 454.57 mark. The Sensitive Index increased by 0.26 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE today, at least 10,456,980 shares were bought and sold through 48,640 transactions of 333 companies.

According to this, transactions worth Rs 4.451 billion took place in NEPSE on Wednesday. In NEPSE, transactions worth Rs 6.699 billion took place on Sunday, while transactions worth Rs 5.138 billion took place on Monday. Similarly, yesterday (Tuesday), transactions worth Rs 4.232 billion took place.

Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE on Wednesday, while there was green across 10 groups, the indicators of three groups decreased. Accordingly, the indicator of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.22 percent and the Development Bank by 0.21 percent, while the indicator of the Finance group went down by 0.28 percent.

Similarly, hotels and tourism increased by 0.47 percent, hydropower by 0.39 percent, investment by 0.30 percent, life insurance by 1.79 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.83 percent, and the microfinance group by 0.15 percent, while the mutual fund group decreased by 0.02 percent.

Likewise, while non-life insurance increased by 0.19 percent and others by 0.33 percent, the indicator of the trading group went down by 0.89 percent.

On Wednesday, the share prices of 157 companies increased in NEPSE. While the share prices of 90 companies decreased, those of 13 companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day, the investors of Salpa Bikas Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills earned the most on Wednesday. A positive circuit occurred in the share prices of both these companies, meaning they increased by 10 percent. A positive circuit had occurred in Salpa’s share price on Sunday and Tuesday as well, while it had increased by 9.99 percent on Monday. On Wednesday, the final trading price of Salpa remained at Rs 531, while the final trading price of Reliance Spinning Mills remained at Rs 519.

Similarly, on Wednesday, the investors of Himalayan Power Partner lost the most value, with share prices dropping by 5.98 percent.

Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company had the highest turnover on Wednesday. Transactions worth Rs 286.9 million of Ankhu Khola took place today. Its final share price remained at Rs 352 per share.
