NEPSE rises by 34.46 points today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 34.46 points today, closing at 2,760.17 points. This marks a growth of 1.26 percent.

According to NEPSE, a total of 26,517,209 shares from 317 companies were traded in 74,057 transactions, with a total turnover of NPR 9.41 billion.

All sectoral sub-indices witnessed gains today. The banking sector rose by 1.81%, development banks by 1.22%, finance companies by 1.79%, hotels and tourism by 0.93%, hydropower by 1.71%, investment by 1.08%, and life insurance by 0.68%. Similarly, manufacturing and processing increased by 0.88%, microfinance by 1.28%, non-life insurance by 0.76%, trading by 0.85%, and other sectors by 0.52%.

Super Madi Hydropower Limited recorded the highest gain today, with its share price rising by 8.08%. On the other hand, Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited saw the biggest decline, with its share price falling by 4.64%.

In terms of transaction value, Butwal Power Company Limited led the market with NPR 523.2 million worth of shares traded. By volume, Prabhu Select Fund topped the list with 1,221,600 units of shares traded.
