NEPSE rises by 5.32 points today

KATHMANDU: The NEPSE index, which measures share transactions in the securities market, increased by 5.32 points. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index rose by 0.20 percent compared to the previous day, reaching 2,655.99 points.

The Sensitive Index, which measures trading of shares of large companies, increased by 1.39 points, reaching 457.53 points. Although the NEPSE index showed a slight rise on Tuesday, the total trading amount decreased.

Today, shares of 319 companies, totaling 11,976,780 units, were traded at a value of NPR 5.823 billion. On Monday, total trading amounted to NPR 7.035 billion.

According to NEPSE, the sub-indices of development banks, life insurance, mutual funds, and trading groups declined today, while all other sub-indices increased. Among them, the hotel and tourism sub-index recorded the highest rise, increasing by 1.41 percent.

Today, the shares of Bandipur Cable Car topped the trading chart with transactions worth NPR 269,997,649. The share price of Jhapa Energy Limited hit a positive circuit, rising by 10 percent. Likewise, investors in Sagar Distillery Limited and Srinagar Agrotech Industry Limited earned more than 9 percent.

Meanwhile, investors of Joshi Hydropower Development Limited lost 4.96 percent in share value during today’s trading.
