NEPSE rises by double digits, trading volume exceeds Rs 4 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a double-digit gain. Today, the NEPSE index increased by 15.70 points, closing at 2,566.07.

A total of 92,55,457 shares of 345 companies were traded 55,277 times, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 4.10 billion.

All sector sub-indices saw an increase in today’s trading.

Shares of Sagar Distillery Ltd., Mabiling Energy Ltd., Bungol Hydro Ltd., and Jhapa Energy Ltd. hit the positive circuit limit. The biggest loser of the day was Everest Bank Ltd. Debenture, whose price fell by 3.54%.

In terms of transaction amount, Sahas Urja Ltd. recorded the highest turnover, totaling Rs 229.16 million. By the number of shares traded, Barun Hydropower Company Ltd. led with 450,595 shares exchanged.
