KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which rose by a high number on the first day of trading this week, has seen a double-digit decline for the last three consecutive days.
Today, the NEPSE index fell by 25.16 points to settle at 2,821.13. 23,343,201 shares of 308 companies were bought and sold 1,601,633 times, generating a turnover of Rs 10.97 billion 2654,473.
While the trade group increased by 0.43 percent in today’s trading, all other sub-indices decreased. Banking decreased by 1.04 percent, Development Bank decreased by 1.31 percent, Finance decreased by 1.55 percent, Hotel and Tourism decreased by 1.05 percent, Hydropower decreased by 0.37 percent and Investment decreased by 1.24 percent.
Similarly, life insurance decreased by 1.45 percent, production and processing by 0.94 percent, microfinance by 0.50 percent, mutual funds by 0.15 percent, non-life insurance by 1.51 percent and other groups by 0.76 percent.
The share prices of Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Guardian Microlife Insurance Limited have entered a positive circuit. The share price of Green Development Bank Limited has decreased by the most by 6.84 percent.
In terms of transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited has recorded the highest transaction today, worth Rs 967 million 95 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, NMB Sulabh Investment Fund-2 has recorded the highest transaction of 1,113,335 shares.
