KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, Sunday, the share market rose by a high margin, leaving investors enthusiastic.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 57.55 points today, Sunday. Rising by 2.12% compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE reached 2,772.17 points.
The Sensitive Index also advanced, rising by 8.05 points to close at 473.48, a gain of 1.73 percent from the previous trading session. Reflecting a broadly positive market, 30,915,183 shares of 331 companies were traded through 133,529 transactions on Sunday. Total turnover for the day stood at Rs 13.785 billion.
Indicators for all 13 groups on the NEPSE appeared “green” today. Accordingly, the Commercial Bank group increased by 1.79%, Development Bank by 1.68%, Finance by 1.73%, Hotel and Tourism by 3.35%, Hydropower by 2.74%, Investment by 2.84%, Life Insurance by 2.03%, Manufacturing and Processing by 2.97%, Microfinance by 1.60%, Mutual Fund by 0.97%, Non-Life Insurance by 1.97%, the Others group by 1.57%, and the Trading group by 1.52%.

On the NEPSE today (referring to the trading session), while the prices of 240 companies increased, only 19 decreased. The share price of Nepal SBI Bank Limited remained stable.
In the “green” stock market on Sunday, the prices of eight companies hit a positive circuit, meaning they increased by 10%. The companies hitting the positive circuit include SY Panel, Srinagar Agritech, Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Bandipur Cable Car, Himstar Urja Company, Mabilung Energy, Reliance Finance, and Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company.
On Sunday, Everest Bank’s debenture fell the most, by 5.80%, with its final transaction price maintained at Rs 1,154.
Today, Aankhu Khola Hydropower Limited had the highest share turnover. It recorded a share transaction of Rs 435.9 million today, with its final share price maintained at Rs 268.40 per unit.
