NEPSE surges by 34.42 points to settle at 2,694.82

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 34.42 points today, marking a gain of 1.29 percent. With this increase, the NEPSE index settled at 2,694.82 points.

A total of 317 companies were involved in today’s trading session, with 30,182,341 shares exchanged across 89,468 transactions. The total turnover reached NPR 9.74 billion.

All sector sub-indices posted gains today. The Life Insurance group saw the highest increase, rising by 2.83 percent, followed by Non-life Insurance at 2.51 percent and Development Banks at 2.31 percent. The Banking group climbed by 1.36 percent, Finance by 1.99 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.71 percent, and Hydropower by 0.47 percent.

Similarly, the Investment group rose by 1.01 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.69 percent, Microfinance by 0.56 percent, Mutual Funds by 0.06 percent, trading by 1.76 percent, and the others group by 0.91 percent.

Green Development Bank Limited and Khanikhola Hydropower Company witnessed the highest share price increases, both gaining 9.99 percent. In contrast, the ‘9% ICFC Finance Limited Debenture–2088’ experienced the biggest drop, falling by 3.31 percent.
