Rasuwa flood: Insurance claim worth Rs. 289.2 million

KATHMANDU: The initial insurance claim arising from the damage caused by the floods in Lhendekhola, Rasuwa, is worth Rs. 289.26 million.

According to the Nepal Insurance Authority, seven different insurance companies have filed claims worth Rs 161.11 crore. Shikhar Insurance Company has filed 10 claims worth Rs 161.11 crore. Neco Insurance has filed three claims worth Rs 52 crore. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has filed seven claims worth Rs 34.15 crore.

The authority has stated that 12 insurance claim applications worth Rs 12.25 million have been filed with Nepal Insurance Company, six with Rs 7.7 million with Sanima GIC Insurance, and nine with Rs 7.55 million with IGI Prudential.

Similarly, three insurance claims worth Rs 6.8 million have been filed against United Ajod, six against NLG Insurance worth Rs 4.7 million, and seven against Siddhartha Premier worth Rs 3.1 million. According to the authority, a total of 63 insurance claims have been filed.

The floods in Lhendekhola, Rasuwa, swept away the Miteri Bridge connecting Nepal with China, the under-construction dry port on the border, the customs office, and vehicles parked nearby. The Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project and other physical infrastructure were damaged.
