KATHMANDU: Although today is a public holiday for Ghatasthapana, the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system has been operated for electronic payment transactions.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the RTGS system will also remain in operation on Monday.

“Even though Monday is a public holiday for Ghatasthapana, the RTGS system will operate from 10 AM to 4 PM,” the central bank stated in a notice.

RTGS is an electronic payment system used for high-value transactions.

This system is primarily used for transactions involving large amounts and urgent payments.
