KATHMANDU: The Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will remain operational even during the Tihar festival holidays.

According to a notice issued by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the RTGS system will operate on October 20, 21, 22, and 24—days that are officially public holidays.

The system will remain closed on Bhai Tika day.As per the NRB’s Payment Systems Department, RTGS services will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the operating days.

The central bank had earlier directed banks and financial institutions to keep necessary banking systems functional for customs clearance purposes.

Except on the day of Bhai Tika, Class A, B, and C banks and financial institutions have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted banking services required for customs clearance and related transactions.
