Stock market crosses 2,800 points to settle at 2,815

KATHMANDU: On the last trading day of the week, Thursday, the stock market crossed 2,800 points. The index NEPSE increased by 49.15 points compared to the previous day. After that increase, NEPSE has settled at 2,815.

The trading amount has also increased. The previous day’s turnover was Rs 9.9 billion, but today it was Rs 11.39 billion. While the value of 186 companies increased, 52 decreased while 6 remained stable.

Today, the banking sector has increased the most by 3.32 percent. Mainly, after the monetary policy review of the Nepal Rastra Bank, the loss provision rate that banks have to allocate in the good category has been reduced from 1.10 to 1 percent, this sector has seen attraction. This is expected to increase the profit of banks in the upcoming financial statements. This is the reason why this sector jumped on Thursday.

However, all sectors of the market have increased. After banking, the manufacturing sector increased by 2.91 percent. Business 1.20, Others 1.01, Non-Life Insurance 0.70, Microfinance 0.91, Life Insurance 0.81, Investment 1.25, Hydropower 1.80, Hotels and Tourism 1.12, Finance 0.28 and Development Bank Group 1.53 percent increased.

The value of four companies increased by 10 percent. The value of Guardian Microlife Insurance, Aparhewa Khola, Sindhu Bikas Bank and Dordikhola Hydropower increased by 10 percent. The value of Liberty Energy increased by 9.96, Gurans Laghubitta by 9.24, and Bottlers Nepal Balaju by 8.99 percent.

The value of Bhuleog Energy decreased by 7.17 and Upkar Laghubitta by 6.25 percent. Himalayan Reinsurance had the highest turnover of Rs 964.7 million. Then, Nepal Reinsurance, NRN Infrastructure, Singati Hydropower and Kumari Bank were the companies with the most turnover.
