NAWALPARASI: The Transport Management Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur) has collected a revenue of Rs. 284.587 million in the fiscal year 2081/82.

Suresh Jaiswal, Chief of the Transport Management Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur), said that the office’s revenue collection in the fiscal year 2081/82 was around the same as the previous fiscal year.

“In the last fiscal year, Rs. 228.796 million, Rs. 748 million were collected for vehicle tax collection, Rs. 500.1516 million for driver’s licenses and vehicle registration books, Rs. 3166 thousand 500 under the income revenue heading of the transportation sector, and Rs. 1.1235 million for other administrative service fees,” he said.

In the last fiscal year, 1,414 vehicle inspections of various types were passed at the Transport Management Office (Nawalparasi, Bardaghat, Sustapur). Similarly, 9,975 people participated in the written examination for driving licenses from this office in the fiscal year 2081-82, informed Chief Jaiswal.

“Last fiscal year, 20,260 people took the trial driving license exam,” he said. “During the same period, 3,054 driving licenses were renewed.”

The Transport Management Office has launched a special campaign to make tax collection systematic and effective, said Office Chief Jaiswal. Under this campaign, special priority was given to bill book renewal, inspection passes, route permits and driver’s licenses. He said that as a positive impact of the campaign, revenue of Rs 48 million 25 thousand 625 was collected in the month of Chaitra alone.

Information Officer Tek Narayan Tiwari said that the Transport Office has made special arrangements to provide smooth services to the service recipients. Tiwari informed that additional staff has been deployed to manage the crowd of service recipients coming to pay taxes.

“A separate counter has been arranged with the aim of speeding up the process of availing services,” he said. “Arrangements have been made to easily provide documents and other information required for paying taxes.”

In the last fiscal year 2080/81, the Transport Management Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur), collected a revenue of Rs. 303.553 million.
