MYAGDI: Tundi Power Company has completed two hydropower projects—Chimkhola–Rahughat–Mangale (35.5 MW) and Upper Rahughat (48.5 MW)—with a combined capacity of 84 MW on the Rahughat River in Myagdi district.

The projects, built at an estimated cost of Rs 13 billion, are now connected to the national grid and have begun commercial power generation.

According to company manager Pushpa Dangi, both run-of-the-river projects were completed within four years and can operate at full capacity based on water availability. Electricity from the projects is transmitted via 39 towers through the Tilkenichaur switchyard in Raghuganga Rural Municipality.

The construction involved Everest Hydro (electromechanical), Machhapuchhre Metal & Machinery (hydromechanical), Ramechhap Sherpa Construction (civil), and South Asian Infrastructure (tunnel).

In the same basin, the 21.3 MW Tulokhola and 22.5 MW Upper Tulokhola projects are already in operation, while two more—40 MW Rahughat and 23.5 MW Upper Tulokhola—are nearing completion and expected to finish within this year.
