KMC shortlists 16,137 students eligible for July 19 entrance exam

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has shortlisted 16,137 students as eligible to sit for the entrance examination scheduled for July 19, for admission under the scholarship quota in institutional schools for grades 11 and 12 for the academic year 2025/26.

These students were chosen from a total of 17,229 applications received from all 77 districts across the country.

According to the Education Department, 1,092 applications were rejected due to incomplete documents such as citizenship or birth certificate (as identity proof), proof of studying in a public school, proof of scholarship study in a private school, or proof of permanent residence in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Among the shortlisted students, 11,590 are in the Science stream, 4,164 in Management, 32 in Humanities, 95 in Education, and 256 in the Law stream.

The department has already notified the shortlisted students via email and phone.
